Pumas UNAM Go Shopping!

The transfer window opened with a bang in New World Order and Pumas got themselves well and truly involved in all the madness! The gaffer Nick Justice stated that when he took over the hot-seat that he would be delving into his clubs transfer kitty to make big changes in order to create a team that could at least put in some kind of challenge in a very, very strong Division 2.

Which will be no easy task and we learnt from the off that the English manager was under no illusion of the task in hand. You can tell from some of the signings made thus far by the 23-year-old manager that he's taking no chances and trying his best to strengthen his team throughout and its rumoured that they have not yet stopped spending the cash!

So far the Mexican side have managed to bring in some great talent, in the form of three players, thus far the clubs fans have seen Bayer Leverkusen's 20-year-old midfielder Benjamin Henrichs arrive at the club and it got a lot of people talking and excited about what is ahead for Pumas UNAM this season. The German international star has been a revelation since arriving on the scene at Leverkusen in 2015, he was Justice number one target we understand and he's believed to be absolutely thrilled with this addition. In fact we caught up with him about the signing just recently for NWO TV and here's what he had to say, " I'm so happy we were able to bring in Benjamin (Henrichs), he was a top target of ours and we faced some very tough competition for his signature from the likes of Seattle Sounders, Anderlecht and Salzburg- among a number of other clubs, so I'm thrilled that he chose us over them. I mean in Seattle he would be like a child compared to all the oldies they have, so that doesn't really surprise me.

However the others we knew would be stiff competition; we have still a long way to go but we've added some great talent thus far. We still need to add a few more players to add a little bit more quality if we are to have a solid season...we have had some good luck in the market and we hope that long continues."

Benjamin Henrichs(Pictured right)

is one of three permanent additions made by the team so far, along with him the next biggest star to arrive at Pumas UNAM was Brazilian striker Vieira Luan, 24, from Gremio. The striker arrived in a £12-million switch from the Brazilian outfit and with that price tag he comes in with a rather large amount of expectation. Rightfully so, not just due to his price-tag but also down to the record he posses in Brazil and the fact he's featured for his national side will always boost up expectations. However both manager and player aren't put off by the expectation and in fact seem fairly confident ahead of the new season and what they can achieve working alongside each other.

We caught up with Vieira Luan at a shirt signing at the club shop this afternoon, where he was honest on his move, the script is translated from Portuguese...here is what he had to say, " I'm delighted that the manager has brought me here and in doing so he spent quite bit of his budget so I know the expectation that will be on my shoulders and it's something I will relish this season, and as a forward there will always be pressure for goals, and it's something I've made myself used to and something that I hope I can continue for my new club this season as we look to do something special here!"

So as you heard from Brazilian striker Vieira Luan( Pictured left) is under no illusion that he will have pressure to score goals for the club following his big £12-million switch from Gremio. We also caught up with the Pumas UNAM gaffer Nick Justice at the shirt signing and he also spoke about the striker in high regard and feels that he will be more than fine with the pressure and that goals shouldn't be an issue for the 24-year-old, we caught up with what he had to say, "Yes, Luan comes in with a big price tag on his shoulders and as a striker he will always be expected to score goals and that's what we've brought him to the club to do! He is a natural born goal scorer and I feel I've invested wisely in bringing him to the club to bag a few goals for us this season and continue what he's started with his career over in Brazil. At 24-years-old he still has room to grow and improve and we feel he can indeed do that with us here at Pumas UNAM!"

So there you have it, both player and manager seem to be pretty happy with the move, let's hope that it pays of for the Mexican side this season and that the £12-million tag doesn't add in too much pressure for the 24-year-old.

The final permanent signing so far saw Manchester City youngster Marlos Moreno(Pictured right), 21, in a £5.6-million switch. The Colombian impressed the gaffer whilst on-loan at Girona enough for Justice to want to bring him to the club. We also questioned him on Moreno earlier today, he said the following, "We know it is a tough market and we had to act fast in order to bring in players and its a tough market to bring in good players; so we knew when he was made available by his parent club Manchester City for a permanent transfer we had to take their manager Dominic Latouche up on his offer and we are delighted to bring him on board and we hope that he can make an impact on the first eleven this season, in a long and tough season!"

That's all on this update...let's do this again soon!
