AS Roma Season Preview

AS Roma have appointed Fert Dert as their new manager. This surprised many of the fans as they expected to see another Italian take over the job but didn’t even consider that a non-Italian would. The board have agreed with the new manager that the goal should be to finish in the top half of the table. Fert promised the fans that Roma would play attacking football through a direct style of play. Due to the strict rules concerning player transfers AS Roma decided to bring young prospects with the potential of being world-class. After buying these players, Fert decided he had done all he could concerning transfers and hopes that he sees results soon. Some of the transfers made were:

Bartlomiej Dragowski: The 20-year-old goal stopper was brought in from Fiorentina in a 5.5 million pound deal to play second fiddle to Allison. He has lots of potential, but it remains to be seen if he would ever fulfill it.

Orel Mangala: He was signed for 1.1 million pounds. After fighting with three other clubs, AS Roma goth their man. He is one to watch in the future having seven matches so far, this season for Stuggart and a Belgian U-21 international, he could rise and provide a profit should Roma decide to sell him.

Luciano Vietto: When Fert arrived at the club, one of the things he wanted to do first was to sign a striker as Dzeko was the only recognised striker in the team. He used the rules to his advantage as he decided to swap Juan Jesus and 2 million pounds for the Argentinian. Fert will be hoping that Vietto is worth the buy since the striker would be starting all cups for the team.

Javi Ontiveros: Another young player bought for Roma, the 20-year-old winger was bought from Malaga for CV. He is also one for the future. Fert will be watching him to see whether he was worth the buy or not. With Malaga having lost all their matches, Fert could be worried about this buy.

Players to watch this season:

Edin Dzeko: Has scored 10 goals in 10 matches for Roma in real life even doing well in the preseason. The fans would hope that Dzeko caries his form to the league. The striker will be the player to score goals for Roma this season. Fert expects at least 15 goals this season and will hope that their main man can deliver.

Radja Nainggolan: The box to box midfielder will be the powerhouse in the midfield and is expected to dictate the tempo of the game. With Dzeko as the target man, the midfielder is expected to provide assists for him. He will also be on set pieces for and should prove to be a vital player for Roma this season having preformed well during the pre-season.

Konstantinos Manolas: If Roma are to get clean sheets this season, this man will have to be in the form of his life. Fert will hoping that Manolas becomes consistent in his form as if he has potential to be world class if only he was consistent.

Roma face fellow Italian time AC Milan and will hope to hit the ground running with a win over them. Fert will aim to make his team attack from the first minute and not give the opposition a breathing space.
