We’re back again for match day 3 as AS Roma face Internazionale at the Giuseppe Measzza Stadium. There are 79,987 fans here to watch this match live. These two teams would be familiar with each other since both teams have played in the Serie A. Both teams look equal on paper so it could go either way.

After losing their last game against Monaco, Inter will hoping that they don’t experience a loss today. AS Roma earned a boring draw against City and will be hoping to get their first win of the season today. Fert said in his pre-match conference that the team looks good in the training and that his boys know what is expected of them. He also provided the fans with good news that Perotti is back in training but couldn’t pass the fitness test to start today. Inter managed by Andrew Flint made no change to the starting line that lost to Monaco 2 - 1 on Thursday. They play a 4-2-3-1(a) formation.

First Half:

The game started in front of 79,987 people in the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium. You can really feel the atmosphere in this stadium. Inter started the kick off and decided to pass the ball around the back. The first attack came in the 5th minute as Peres passed to Florenzi but Florenzi shot the ball over the goal post. In the 7th minute El Shaarawy got a yellow card for tackling Perisic. Perisic used the free kick to cross it into the penalty box but Candreva’s header beats the keeper and the post. AS Roma immediately responded with a counter attack with El Shaarawy crossing it to Dzeko. Dzeko tried to chip the incoming keeper but the ball went wide. By the 23rd minute, Mario was booked for a foul on Dzeko. Three minutes later Alisson saved a shot from Icardi as he was already through on goal. In the 33rd minute, Florenzi tried again to cross the ball and this time Dzeko made sure the ball entered the net as he managed to score his first goal of the season. Almost immediately, Inter responded with a counter attack, Icardi was through one on one against the keeper but Alisson kept the ball out. The two keepers were busy for the remainder of the first half as both Perisic and Dzeko had their shots saved. The referee blew his whistle and the match ended 1 – 0 in favour of AS Roma.

Second Half:

AS Roma started the second half and decided to slow down the tempo of the game, Two minutes later, Candreva played a ball over the Roma defense and into D’Ambrosio. D’Ambrosio kicked the ball into the bottom left corner and scored. There was no way Alisson could catch that. Looks like what Andrew Flint said in that locker room during half time worked. In the 53rd minute, De Rossi insulted the ref for denying him a foul and received a yellow card. He was lucky not to be sent off. Twelve minutes later, the substitute Skriniar received a red card for hitting De Rossi with his elbow. Inter are now down to ten men. 69 minutes into the game, Dzeko received the ball from De Rossi and shot it but the shot was saved by the Inter keeper. Inter also saw their shot saved by Alisson as Perisic was through on goal but couldn’t get the shot past the keeper. In the 74th minute, De Rossi went under the challenge of D’Ambrosio. The Inter player was booked and his name went into the referee’s notebook. AS Roma used the free kick given to counter attack but Handonovic got a hand to punch the ball out. As the game was about to end, Strootman played the ball to El Shaarawy who used his pace to get past the Inter defense and place the ball into the bottom corner to score the winner. The referee blew his whistle as the match ended with AS Roma winning the match 2 – 1.

Fert came into the press room with a big smile on his face. When asked for a comment, here’s what he had to say: “I’m delighted with our first win of the season. The boys knew not to give up even when it looked like it was heading towards a draw. I’m also happy with the way Dzeko played today as he posed a big threat against the home side today. We hope to do well against Harry Kane FC I mean Tottenham on Thursday. Bye!” Edin Dzeko also got his chance to say something: “I’m very glad to have scored today and received the Man of the Match award. Hopefully many more to come. We knew heading into this match that only a win would be acceptable and my teammates fought till the last minute. We hope to continue this fighting spirit into the next game”.
