Chelsea advanced to the second round for the NWO Cup tonight with a 1-0 win over Kobenhavn at the Parken Stadium. A strong defensive performance from Azpilicueta, Luiz, Cahill and Alonso meant that the home side were unable to get a shot on target and Courtois had a pretty easy day of it. 29 year old Goalkeeper Volkan Babacan had an excellent game in goal for the Danes, restricting the visitors to the one goal victory when a lesser performance could have seen a much bigger margin. Hazard was named Man Of The Match.

The highlight of his day was the winning goal scored in the 68th minute with an assist from Pedro. Manager Christopher was extremely pleased with the performance but will be disappointed that they did not win by a bigger margin. "We bossed the game and controlled the play but just could not convert so good chances, and this could hurt us in a different game. However I cannot be displeased with the lads who came away with a strong win. Now we look forward to Dortmund in a game we will be looking to win to give us a better look at the promotion places." he said after the game."
