First Half:
The whistle was blown, and Real Madrid started the match by going straight into the opposition’s half. Two minutes into the game, Dzeko received the ball from Strootman and got a shot in. The ball went out of the reach of Navas and crossed the goal line but Dzeko’s celebration was cut short as Real Madrid got the offside trap right. 10 minutes later, Bale passed the ball to Benzema, but Alisson was able to keep the ball from going in. Real continued to attack as Roma weren’t getting any possession. Alisson was called into action as he stopped Bale and Ronaldo from scoring. In the 29th minute, Dzeko fell as Varane mistimed his tackle and received a yellow card. The first goal was scored by Real Madrid as Benzema passed the ball to Bale for a tap in. Bale tapped the ball at goal and Alisson could only get a hand but couldn’t keep it out. Bale also got another shot four minutes later, but Alisson saved the ball with both hands. The last action was of the game was when Pellegrini caused a foul. Ronaldo crossed the ball to Isco but his header went wide. The referee blew his whistle with Real Madrid winning 1 – 0.
Second Half:
The second half was started by AS Roma as the referee blew his whistle. No shots were taken till the 57th minute when Bale scored. He received the ball from Bale and smacked as the power takes it past Alisson. The only 2 shots on target AS Roma had in the whole game was in the 76th minute as El Shaarawy received the ball from Dzeko and shot the ball but Navas made a comfortable save. A minute later, Perotti received a long pass from Strootman and shot but Navas made a good save to keep the ball out. There was no action till the end of the game as the whistle as blown and AS Roma lost 1 – 0 to Real Madrid.

Post Match Conference:
Fert had little to say but managed to comment on the match. He said “I was surprised with the lack of chances for us as we only had 2 shots on target which came very late in the second half. I saw that Dzeko was frustrated because he only got the ball when he scored the offside goal, so I’ll have to sit down with him and see what the problem is. Alisson did well for us today with the saves he made, my man of the match. I’m also sad that Strootman got injured today, he’ll be out for 11 days. I don’t have that much depth in the mid-field role so thumps up should be worried about it”. Dzeko was also here to give his take on the game. He said “That was one of my most frustrating games as I couldn’t get the ball. I wasn’t getting the ball maybe it was because of the Real Madrid defense. I look forward to playing Benfica. I hope that we can get our first home win there”.
