First Half

The first half was started by Juventus as they went straight for the attack. Six minutes into the game, Juventus was awarded a free kick, Marchisio crossed the ball to Lichtsteiner who then headed the ball past Alisson. That's how Juventus scored with their first shot. AS Roma started the kick off and Kolarov played a long ball to El Shaarawy who then went past a defender and took his shot. His shot went in off the post and AS Roma managed to equalize. In the 7th minute, El Shaarawy got a yellow card after bringing Higuain down. AS Roma then had two chances but Buffon saved Dzeko's shot and Manolas blasted his own shot wide. AS Roma were made to wish they had scored those chances as Sandro scored in the 16th minute after he received a beautiful pass from Higuain. Gonalons then had an attempt on goal a minute later but couldn't get his shot past Buffon. El Shaarawy almost went past Marchisio but the Juventus player fouled him and received a yellow card. In the 36th minute, El shaarawy again got the equalizer as he received a pass from Dzeko and placed his shot to the top corner. No way Buffon would have reached that. Not up to a minute later, Benatia gave Juventus their lead back as he played a long shot which beat Alisson. The referee blew his whistle with Juventus winning 3 - 2.

Second Half:

AS Roma started the second half by passing the ball around the back. Juventus got the first chance of the half but it only just went wide of the post as Matuidi thought that would go in. AS Roma then had two more chances but Buffon blocked Strootman's shot from going in and Dzeko's shot went over the bar. Juventus got a free kick in the 62nd minute but were unable to score as Matuidi couldn't direct Marchisio's cross into the goal post. Juventus decided to score again as Costa received the ball from Higuain and put it past Alisson. 12 minutes to the end of the game, AS Roma's hopes were crushed as Costa got his second goal after striking the ball superbly past Alisson. Alisson became useful again as in the 88th minute as he managed tip Higuain's shot away with an acrobatic save. The referee decided to put AS Roma out of their misery as he blew his whistle ending the match with Juventus winning 5 - 2.

Post Match Conference:

Fert was asked to comment about the match. Here's what he had to say. "We knew that they win matches by outscoring their opponents and unfortunately we were one of their victims today. I don't know what went wrong but I suspect it was the offside trap. We had a very poor game especially the second half when it was essentially the Costa show. El Shaarawy did well to get 2 goals for himself but too bad it was for the losing side. After the criticism he received from the fans, media and me, he spent extra hours on the training ground improving his composure. That's what a player should do. Some would argue that Alisson could have done better but I won't point hands at anyone as it was my tactics that made us lose the game. We play Chelsea next and hopefully we do better than this". El Shaarawy was also available to comment, he said : "I'm very happy to have scored. I was disappointed with my performance last time out against Arsenal and was determined to change that. I just wished that we could have at least gotten a draw here. We have Chelsea next and the lads will be itching to get back on form ".
